From the recording Honesty and Chocolate

My tribute to my great friend - and mentor - Tim Lake. Tim was really interested in electronica and subverting musical conventions so I have tried to borrow from that approach whilst retaining a semblance of lyrical and melodic structure! I like to think Tim would have approved - even though he would not have wished to have been the subject of a song!! He was a truly incredible person and those of us who knew him mourn his passing...

Lyrics

You were a Tower – (a citadel unstormed)
You were a tower – (of strength, you kept us strong)
You were a shower – (of sparks creating light)
You were a shower – (of generous delight)

It seems a lifetime when we met just yesterday
You were a teacher and you held us in your sway
A man of music and a man of families
You rose above the crowd, so tall in dignity

You were a Tower – (a citadel unstormed)
You were a tower – (of strength, you kept us strong)
You were a shower – (of sparks creating light)
You were a shower – (of generous delight)

You conquered all you met, no obstacle would stand
Your mighty intellect concealed a helping hand
Your fine accomplishments you shared with everyone
Beneath the surface lay a quiet man of fun

You were a Tower – (a citadel unstormed)
You were a tower – (of strength, you kept us strong)
You were a shower – (of sparks creating light)
You were a shower – (of generous delight)
