I try and include one instrumental on all my albums - partly to break up the possible monotony of my vocals - and also because I enjoy creating them, especially as I’m not an instrumentalist!
This began life on my iPad using a simple piano app - I found a riff and a melodic line I liked and then added more layers. In recording I relied on Ben and Jez and my good friend Chris Varley (piano) to flesh out my arrangement with their fluent playing
