From the recording Honesty and Chocolate
One of my recent piano based songs - I’d bought a “portable” 88 keys piano and found some chord patterns I liked - and could play! - and transferred to my iPad where I could achieve more on the arrangement of the song. It’s a simple cri de couer from somebody who’s fallen out with their loved one. Another terrific guitar solo from Ben.
Lyrics
Hello, is there nothing left to say?
Hello, there must be another way
When you called you had something on your mind
What to do when there’s silence on the line
Hello, was it something that I said?
Hello, I can’t hear what’s in your head
You had said that we’d always need to talk
Now we’re here you are holding back your thoughts
From the moment we had touched each other’s lives
(There was) no one else could reach my broken heart
We had such communication – and that’s a start!
Hello, how do we move on from here?
Hello, it’s your voice I long to hear
If I’m wrong then I’ll try to make it right
We belong and there’s nothing we can’t fight
From the moment we had held each other close
(I know that) no one else could show me how to love
We have mutual admiration – and that’s enough!
