From the recording Honesty and Chocolate
This song was definitely a possible exclusion - I enjoyed working on it as a totally improvised piece - but wasn’t sure it fitted the album. But I think it does - I’ll let you decide!
Lyrics
I dread the darkness when there’s no-one else around
I dread the moment when I cannot hear a sound
I live for daylight when the sunshine fills the air
I long to meet with everybody else who’s there
The night time swallows up my positivity
It drives me down so deep I cannot even see
I’m in a coal mine and there’s no-one here to guide
I’m in a coracle swept by eveningtide
Stop – it’s a light, it’s a flame, no it’s a candle burning
For me – in the air, giving light
When there was nothing left for us
Both – we can see, where we are
And where we’re going there must be
Light – at the end of the tunnel
That we were working through there ago
Didn’t you know?
